We are thrilled to announce that the Koller House in Madison, Mississippi won two AIA (American Institute of Architects) awards! We are grateful to the Koller family for the collaboration and trust over the years, and to the extended crew that brought the project to fruition.
The house received an Honor Award, which is the highest juried award, and we are humbled for the creative recognition. It also won an inaugural Mississippi COTE (Committee on the Environment) Award, which is based on a framework that measures the real sustainability of a project in reference to not only how a building ecologically performs, but also how it benefits its inhabitants and supports a healthy lifestyle. To quote the AIA about COTE, it “was founded on the idea that sustainability is essential to design excellence and vice versa… The Award has become the industry’s best-known award program recognizing innovative projects integrating exemplary performance with compelling design.”
