Room with a view
Hi Guys, long time no see! We've been busy bees, but we thought we would pop in for a few minutes and take you on a mini journey through a recent project. Let's travel back to August 2015, shall we? The time of warm summer breezes and (fill in the blank with a notable event happening in August. Use your imagination). We began talking to a couple, here in Ocean Springs, about a potential addition they wanted on the back of their house overlooking a beautiful bayou. What sat on this site currently was a screened porch that was functioning fine, but they envisioned something a bit snazzier and more useful. We worked with them to dream up a 550 square foot addition that would be comprised of glass, metal, rich woods, all the best things in life. The client for this particular project had a GREAT vision and an eye for design. They mentioned things like Richard Neutra (swoon), case study houses in California, exposed steel...we were salivating here people. Working with an excellent local contractor, who's attention to detail is out of this world, we were able to work in fun moments like pop-up windows over the bar, custom built mahogany counter tops (designed and built by the uber-talented clients), and metal detailing that is OUT OF THIS WORLD. As the addition sits now, it is almost complete (the interior is being rocked in as we speak (did we lose you here? That's slang for sheet rock-- thank us later for impressing your friends)), and we thought it was a perfect time to share a few before, during, and after photos. Here we give you an insider's look at the construction process, and show you how this project has transformed over the course of a few months. Take a peek at the images below, and let us know what you think!
